Chicagoland Soccer to expand
horizons for fall, winter seasons
COVID-19 has forced changes in the way everyone does things. Its effect on Chicagoland Soccer is no different.
With the currently altered IHSA sports schedule, Chicagoland Soccer has time on its hands from now until February, when the boys soccer season has been rescheduled to start.
In an effort to maintain its service to high school student-athletes with quality news content, several major changes will take place on the site.
Chicagoland Soccer is now accepting requests for commissioned stories from any IHSA-sanctioned sport or club no matter the season. Anyone can propose a story: parents; family members; coaches; players; teachers; adminstrators; booster clubs; referees; fans; whomever.
The site is also available to provide game coverage for the new slate of IHSA fall sports and winter sports: girls tennis; boys and girls cross country; girls swimming and diving; boys and girls basketball; wrestling; boys swimming and diving; cheerleading; dance; boys and girls bowling; and girls gymnastics.
Game coverage will also be available to teams competing in the IESA.
Despite the cutback and changes to the prep calendar, there will remain a real hunger in the Chicago area for prep and youth sports coverage. Chicagoland Soccer can help fill that void.
Even with the lack of girls soccer games last spring, Chicagoland Soccer still presented more than 215 stories and related items. The site's Twitter feed registered more than a million impressions (Feb. 1 to July 28) for girls soccer from the cancelled season and drew 124,454 page views from 68,207 viewing sessions per Google Analytics.
For information on fees and how to get your story out to family, friends, college coaches, your communities and many others, contact Chicagoland Soccer at [email protected] or call or text 847-452-5313.
