Chicagoland Soccer Top 25
By Patrick Z. McGavin
With every passing week it gets even more interesting.
With more games and quality matchups to get a deeper and fuller sense of where things stand, the form of the CS Top 25 largely held.
The top seven teams remained unchanged from a week ago. That is a fairly remarkable data point. It reinforces what has seemed evident from the start. Two great teams at the top and some very high quality programs jammed together below them.
Of those top seven, Wheaton Academy continues to astonish with several more shutouts, including a 3-0 victory over quality city program Lane, which is undefeated in the Premier Division North.
Of the teams representing the top 10, those programs have a combined four losses. All four of those losses have come against teams also ranked in the top nine.
We are nearing the one month juncture of the season. The next phase will almost certainly produce its share of upsets. That is certainly going to hold our interest.
