"Skokie Skirmish" moves to Bridgeview
Toyota Park hosts 59th meeting between Niles W. and Niles N.

Nothing excites quite like a rivalry. Records are irrelevant. The past hangs over everything, coloring the emotion and intensity.
Niles North and Niles West require no introductions.
Thanks to the Internet, those who are unable to make it to the game at Toyota Park in Bridgeview will be able to view it on High School Cube (www.highschoolcube.com).
The broadcast production is under the auspices of Niles North's student video production club. Robert Henderson is the producer for the program. The exposure will help the schools open up their rivalry to a larger world.
"I have been streaming Niles North games on the Cube for more than two years now," Henderson said. "This was an amazing opportunity for the school district to showcase to the public what we are capable of, especially in an amazing facility like Toyota Park."
Henderson's production team features eight student announcers with four cameras and crew.
"We strive to educate and provide quality experiences for students who are interested in the broadcast production," he said.
As part of the production, Henderson's production staff is also set to cover the post-game press conference, interviewing athletes and producing a final cut merging the game and press conference to be broadcast on Skokie's Public Access Channel 16.
Niles West (9-6-1) has made strong progress. The Wolves won three games in their bracket at the PepsiCo Showdown and reached the championship game of their own tournament last week. Junior forward Nichole Lopatin is the team's most dynamic offensive threat. She has 20 goals and eight assists this season.
Another forward, junior Mercedes Bajric, is another dangerous player who has collected 11 goals and four assists.
Senior midfielder Vicki Tirovolas has returned from an ACL injury to add speed and playmaking in the middle. She has three goals and seven assists. Junior midfielder Emela Mehicevic has registered four goals and 16 assists. Junior Kaylie Dyer is the team's defensive anchor.
"We have had some stumbles, but we have regrouped and are playing better now," Niles West coach Brett Clish said.
This is the 59th meeting between the two programs. Niles West holds a career advantage of 36-21-1.
The game is part of a Toyota Park doubleheader that includes a fundraiser to benefit Cure It, a pediatric cancer research foundation.
