Class 3A Huntley Sectional preview
(3) Hononegah (15-1-0) at (1) Barrington (15-1-2), 6 p.m.

Barrington hopes to continue an incredible string of success that few in the sport have duplicated, especially those from the Chicagoland area.
Coach Ryan Stengren's teams have won 11-consecutive sectional titles en route to five state trophies. The Fillies played for titles on three occasions and captured state championships in 2017 and 2018 while just missing out on another in 2019.
Barrington is ready to take the next step toward another trip to the Final Four when it hosts Hononegah at 6 p.m. in the sectional final. The victor will meet the winner of (1) St. Charles East and (2) St. Charles North at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Barrington.
Hononegah beat second-seed Cary-Grove 1-0 in the semifinals to reach the title match. Coach Jay Bigwood's squad hopes that it can win the school's third sectional and first since 2017.
The Lady Indians have a 12-match win-streak which includes 10 shutouts. The team’s lone defeat came to Freeport by a 1-0 score on May 4. The squad has only allowed four goals this season.
A big part of the Indians' success is due to their goalkeeper, Paige Taborski, who is much better known for her abilities in a different net.
The senior helped her hockey team to a USA Hockey national title, and she was a finalist to join the U-18 U.S. Women's National team. She plans to continue her hockey career at Northeastern University.
Barrington will look to players who played on the 2019 team that lost on penalties to Naperville North for the title. They are seniors Jen Devona, Coast Liapis, Lara Lubinsky and Kate McGreevey, and juniors Nicole Gwiasda, Riley Raynor and Ella VanNess.
Devona, Liapis and McGreevy were freshmen on the Fillies' 2018 team that beat New Trier on penalties for the state title.
The Fillies, the Mid-Suburban League champions, have won 11 in a row since playing to a 1-1 draw with Buffalo Grove on May 5. Nine of those matches have been shutouts. The squad's lone loss was by a 1-0 score against Libertyville on April 21.
"For us it's about the process, trust the process and bring the Filly brand of Soccer," Stengren said. "Everything else will take care of itself. I am very proud of this group and what they have done so far this year."
