Wheaton Academy (16-4-0) aims to capture its seventh sectional championship and first since 2017, when the Warriors finished second in Class AA to Triad.
Senior Amy Alexander (13 goals, 4 assists) and Kelly Bickhart (13, 9) and junior Emily Setran (9, 10) lead the scoring list. The team has recorded 12 shutouts this season.
Wheaton Academy carries an eight-match winning streak into the contest. After getting off to a 3-2-0 start, Wheaton Academy has won 13 of its last 15 matches.
"We are looking forward to hosting a competitive sectional final against Lisle," Warriors coach Maria Selvaggio said.
Lisle (16-1-0) will work to get back to state after claiming a fourth place finish in 2019. Seven current team members played on that team.
The Lions only loss this season came against nonconference foe Aurora Central by a 2-1 score on May 17. Since then, the Lions have gone 7-0 and avenged the loss with a 5-2 victory over the Chargers in the sectional semifinal.
Lisle offense is powered by Tara Kane (26 goals, 23 assists), Alexis Juveland (18, 10) and McKenna Kane (18, 12). Coach Paul Kohorn describes his defense, led by Cassidy Allen, Gabby Sojka, Madison Manns, Caitlyn Sojka and Mattie Hutchison, as experienced and tenacious.
"We are looking forward to the challenge of playing Wheaton Academy at their place for the sectional final," Kohorn said. "We’re hoping our high-scoring offense will be able to be successful against Wheaton Academy’s strong defenders. It has the potential to be a high-scoring game, which means it will most likely be a defensive battle."
The sectional winner advances to the Mendota Supersectional where it will meet (1) Princeton or (4) Rockford Christian at 4 p.m.
