(2) Saint Ignatius at (1) St. Francis, 7 p.m. Friday
St. Francis hopes to remain perfect (14-0-0) and win its sixth sectional title overall and first since 2018. That season, coach Jim Winslow's program beat Saint Viator to capture its second state title.
The Spartans have recorded seven shutouts and allowed just one goal in five other matches. They have outscored their opponents by an 80-8 margin.
St. Francis has seven seniors, but only one of those, Katherine Lemke, was on the roster of the 2018 championship team. Her teammates and classmates are: are Kate Chaparro, Abby Curtis, Hannah Davis, Sofia Monzon, Meg Ward and Alondra Zepeda.
St. Ignatius (13-5-1) dropped sectional finals appearances in 2019 and 2018 to Benet. The Wolfpack has not won a sectional championship since 2008.
If the Spartans continue their winning ways, they will meet either (1) Payton or (2) Pritzker at 6:30 p.m. Monday at home.
