Roundup (Tuesday, October 10)
DuPage Valley Conference
Neuqua Valley 4, Glenbard North 1
The last boys soccer season in the DVC's current iteration will be decided in the last game on the league slate after the Wildcats topped the Panthers. Glenbard North tied the game in the 43rd minute after Daniel Laverde gave Neuqua Valley a 1-0 halftime lead. Then the Wildcats' Billy Heniades kicked into gear. He assisted Jason Benjamin (51st minute) and Parker Domschke (54th) before capping the scoring on a Jose Navarro helper with 20 minutes left. The Wildcats (14-4-1, 5-2-0) have a say in the conference championship. If they defeat second-ranked and defending state champion Naperville North at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at home, Naperville Central will take the title. A tie would make Central and North co-champs.
Nonconference
New Trier 2, St. Ignatius 0
Riles Walsh had a goal and assist to extend the Trevians win-streak to six. Will Felitto add the insurance goal, and Logan Weaver contributed an assist. Goalkeeper Sam Warden made five saves for his 10th shutout of the season for third-ranked New Trier (17-3-0).
