Class 3A state tournament
Lake Park Regional
Glenbard North 3, Lake Park 1
The visitors struck first in the DuKane Conference rematch (Lake Park defeated Glenbard North 3-2 in league play Sept. 27). Lake Park answered in the 34th minute and the half ended even. Glenbard North took the lead for good in the 54th minute. Jorge Roman was fouled and stepped up to drill his 30-yard free kick to the upper corner of the goal. In the 70th minute Escobedo again got free and fired a great shot that the keeper stretched out to save. Adan Solorio was there to bury the rebound and secure the victory. The Panthers (9-8-3) advance to the final to meet defending Class 3A champion York at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Goal-scorers Owen Peterson, Luca Davies (team-leaing 18th) and Austen Szurgot led the offense for the fourth-seeded Red Devils (14-4-1). Ardit Abdullai and Dray Glashin provided assists.
