Crystal Lake South 1, Dundee-Crown 0
The eighth-seeded Gators stunned no. 1-seed and previously undefeated Dundee-Crown on Nikolas Getzinger's first half PK goal. Goalkeeper Brandon Gorka made six saves to earn his seventh shutout of the year. Crystal Lake South improved to 12-10-2 and advances to the Streamwood Sectional to take on no. 4-seeded Jacobs at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Dundee-Crown, ranked seventh in the final regular season Chicagoland Soccer Top 25, closed its campaign with an 18-1-2 record.
Glenbrook South Regional
New Trier 6, Lane Tech 0
The second-seeded Trevians (19-3-0) rolled to their second-consecutive regional title behind a three-goal, one-assist performance from Ryan Krueger, who recorded his second-consecutive playoff hat-trick. Logan Weaver and Will Felitto supported the offensive output with two assists apiece. Eric Plante added a goal, and sophomore Jeffrey Urban and junior Dominic deBoer contributed their first varsity goals to the win. Keeper Sam Warden recorded four saves to record his 11th shutout of the season. The win avenged a 4-2 loss to Lane in the teams' last postseason meeting in a 2015 Leyden Regional semifinal. The Trevians continue their state finals quest against third-seeded Evanston at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Guilford Regional
Streamwood 3, South Elgin 1
Oscar Chavez scored a brace and Alex Chavez added a goal and an assist to lead the Sabres to the regional title. Rafa Gil contributed an assist for Streamwood, which improved to 13-5-2. The third-seeded Sabres host the sectional and will welcome no. 11-seed Hampshire for a semifinal game at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Whip-Purs (14-7-3) won their regional when they upset second-seeded Elgin on Friday. Tenth-seeded South Elgin concluded its season at 8-10-3.
St. Charles North Regional
St. Charles North 3, St. Charles East 2
Top-seeded St Charles North (13-2-4) took the crosstown rematch. The North Stars, ranked eighth in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25, meet 12th-seeded Wheaton North at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in a Conant Sectional semifinal. St. Charles East, which shocked the North Stars 3-0 Sept. 26, got a brace from Colin Coine and an assist from Luke Schnitker, but fell just short. The Saints turned around their season with a great late-season run. They saw their 6-game win streak against Chicago-area teams end and finished 8-10-4.
