Deerfield 2, Niles West 2 (Deerfield wins PKs 4-1)
Niles West jumped to the lead with two goals in a 1:30 span midway through the first half. Deerfield consistently played on its heels, and only a sharp kick save from Ryan Grady on a breakaway in the 24th minute prevented further damage. In the second half, the Warriors attacked relentlessly and pulled one back in the 53rd minute when Ko Vandeneijkhoff's free kick was headed home by Jude Tatham. Following a corner kick in the 72nd minute, Tatham redirected the ball from Nicolas Compisi, and Adam Odzer turned on the loose ball and tucked it in the corner to tie the game at 2. The Wolves came roaring back, and Grady had to make clutch saves in the 75th and 77th minutes to preserve the tie. In the shootout, the Warriors took control immediately. Compisi converted his shot, and the first Niles West shooter did the same. Vandeneijkhoff powered his shot down the middle, and Niles West hit the crossbar. Grady stepped up and drilled his kick low to the keeper's left. He then denied the next Wolves shooter, but was called for moving early. Not to be deterred, he dove low to his right and smothered the retake. Nikita Bankevich scored to give the Warriors the 4-1 margin in PKs. The victory was the third straight for the Warriors.
