Benet 0, Naperville Central 0
The host Redwings (7-6-2) extended their undefeated and scoreless streak to seven games (6-0-1) by holding 12th-ranked Naperville Central to a scoreless draw. Working against the wind in the first half, Benet seniors Jason Rowaiye and Nick Trakszelis combined for several strong chances that were turned away by Central's defense or junior goalkeeper Ethan Conner. Naperville Central also had several first half chances including five shots on goal, but the Benet team defense was able to limit the quality of shots by giving Central's players little time on the ball. In the second half, Benet created two other strong chances. Seven minutes into the half, Benet was awarded a free kick at the top of the box where Trakszelis tapped a ball to junior Franklin Rutkowski who then advanced a through-ball to senior Artur Pach, whose point-blank shot was turned away by Conner. Shortly thereafter, Benet junior Jon Mitra sent in a free kick from the right side to the upper far post that was saved again by Conner. Naperville Central created the bulk of the chances in the last 20 minutes where strong Benet team defense forced several shots wide. Senior goalkeeper Brian Gould's game total of nine saves included three late-game stops to preserve the clean-sheet. Naperville Central's Conners finished with 10 saves.
Benet's next game is at home against East Suburban Catholic Conference opponent Marian Central at 11 a.m. Monday.
Glenbard North 0, Glenbard East 0
