Morton 3, Naperville North 3 (Morton wins PKs 3-1/4)
In a game more than worthy of a state title match, it took Chicagoland Soccer's top-ranked team 100 minutes and a shootout to end no. 2 Naperville North's long reign as Class 3A champion. Morton recovered from two one-goal deficits in the win. Naperville North freshman defender Alex Barger opened the scoring for Naperville North with an unassisted goal. After Jesus Perez answered off a Saul Juarez assist. Patrick Koenig scored with the first of his two goals to give Naperville North a 2-1 halftime lead. Morton's Edwin Zizumbo tied the game on a PK in the 47th minute, and Morton took the lead one minute later on a goal from Cristian Perez (Gio Alvarez assist). Koenig capped his brace on a Ty Konrad assist in the 65th minute to eventually send the game to a shootout. After the overtimes, Andres Calderone made the lone save for Morton when he stopped the Ohio State-bound Konrad. Naperville North missed two other attempts. Jesus Perez, Cristian Perez and Juarez made PKs for the Mustangs (22-3-2) who advance to play no. 4 St. Patrick in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Estates High School. Naperville North ended its season and outstanding run of three-consecutive Class 3A championships with a 19-5-2 record. During its championship run, the Huskies posted 21-2-3 (2016), 27-1-1 (2017) and 26-0-0 (2018) marks.

Crystal Lake South 2, Notre Dame (Niles) 0
After a scoreless first half Tyler Getzinger (free kick) and Alex Canfield (unassisted) put the defending champion Gators in the Final Four for the second-straight year. Carson Hill made three saves for the clean-sheet. Crystal Lake South (19-4-4), which is ranked 18th in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25, takes on Triad (25-2-3) at 1 p.m. Friday. The Knights were ranked fourth in the final Illinois 10 poll. Niles Notre Dame finished its season at 14-8-3.

Benet 2, Notre Dame (Peoria) 0
Nick Augustyn assisted T.J. McVey's 39th-minute goal and Sam Hepburn's 42nd-minute goal to propel the Redwings (19-1-2) to the Final Four. Vyto Staniskis made eight saves for the clean-sheet for third-ranked Benet, which collected its 19th shutout of the season. Benet meets St. Laurence in the 3 p.m. semifinal against St. Laurence. Notre Dame (22-2-0) was ranked no. 1 in the state by several national websites and featured senior preseason All-American candidates McKay LaHood and Myles Sophanavong. The Irish finished second to Crystal Lake South in the state finals last season.
