The fifth-ranked visitors took a first half lead on Danielle Hopkins' 13th minute, but top-ranked host Barrington earned the draw with a 57th-minute score. Neuqua Valley goalkeepers Kasey Gillespie (1 save) and Tara Tesmond (3) combined to save the tie.
Prospect 1, New Trier 1
The host Knights posted the surprising draw behind a first half goal from Ashley Welk off a Kristin Schneider assist. Fourth-ranked New Trier drew even with a second half strike from Alex Wirth with help from Lily Conley.
St. Charles North 2, Conant 2
The second-ranked North Stars (0-0-1) took the lead twice only to be caught by host Conant (1-0-1). Sarah Andrey's unassisted goal in the 11th minute gave St. Charles North a halftime lead, and Ali Wessel's tally off a Claudia Najera helper gave them a 2-1 lead in the 72nd minute. However goals from Stephanie Mazurek in the 61st and 77th minutes (off Jess Smeltzer and Maddie Celarek assists) earned the 44th-rated Cougars the draw. St. Charles North held a 19-4 shots on goal advantage.
