The fourth-ranked Huskies posted the win behind goals from Hannah Martin and Katelynn Buescher. Maddie Hausmann and Amanda Johnson split the shutout for Naperville North (1-0-1 overall, 1-0-0 DVC).

Geneva 4, Elgin 0
Sydney Gratz had two goals and an assist and Jenna Dominguez scored twice for the no. 7 Vikings in their season- and league-opening win. Anna Spindle collected two assists and Stephanie Howe added a helper for Geneva, which saw it entire 21-girl roster get important early season field time. Katie Montgomery made one save to get the shutout.

West Chicago 4, Plainfield East 1
Barbie Castellanos recorded a hat-trick, and Giselle Navejas added a goal in the opening round of the DeKalb tournament. The Wildcats improved to 1-1-0.
Kickoff Tournament
Deerfield 6, Wheaton North 2
The Warriors opened their home schedule and the tournament in impressive fashion. Deerfield (2-0-0) took the lead when Devyn Compisi passed to Malori Killoren, who laid the ball off for Haley Emory, who blasted her shot under the crossbar from 25 yards in the 16th minute. Emory added a second in the 30th minute when she converted a corner kick from Samantha Linn. Linn added a goal of her own two minutes before halftime when she finished off a sequence that began when Marissa Hyland won a header and directed it to Chloe Cappas, who slotted the ball behind the Falcons defense for Linn to blast home. After Wheaton North converted a corner kick early in the second half to cut their deficit to 3-1, Deerfield responded. Less than five minutes later, Compisi flicked on Ashley Morgan’s free kick to Linn, who set up Hyland for a left footed blast into the far corner. After another Falcons goal off a corner, Linn was taken down in the penalty area, and Emory drilled home the PK in the 58th minute to complete her hat-trick. Riley Halpern closed out the scoring when she took a pass from Callie Birtman and fired it over the keeper from 35 yards with 3 minutes left.

Benet 2, St. Charles East 1
The Redwings got a goal and an assist from Erin Flynn in their upset win over the no. 16 Fighting Saints. Mary Kate Hansen added a goal and Maddie Becker an assist for Benet (2-0-0). Kayla Villa (Sydney Daeschler assist) tallied for St. Charles East (1-1-0), which got 10 saves in 79 minutes of work from keeper Grace Griffin.
Jones 2, St. Ignatius 2
The Eagles (1-0-1) took a two-goal first half lead, but couldn't deny visiting St. Ignatius the tie. Jones took the lead in the 20th minute when Avery Kaplan scored off a Priya Charles on a scramble in front following a corner kick. Martina Bianchi scored unassisted after a deflection from the Wolfpack GK 10 minutes later. Jones goalkeeper Devin Barry stood out with 12 saves, 6 in each half.
St. Charles North 5, Conant 1
The North Stars broke a 1-1 first half tie with three goals in four minutes en route to the win. Freshman Chloe Netzel's goal in the 35th minute broke the tie and Hailey Rydberg and Claudia Najera goals in the 38th minute put third-ranked St. Charles North in command. Najera finished with two goals and an assist, and Gia Wahlberg had a goal and two assists. Sami Rydberg and freshman Grace Barresi contributed assists for the North Stars (2-0-0).
