The Warriors continued their hot start to the season with a hard-fought victory in their second game of the Wheaton North Kickoff Tournament. Benet had the Warriors (3-0-0) on their heels for most of the first half and outshot the hosts 10-0 including a try off the post in the 16th minute. After the first 20 minutes, Deerfield settled down. After the break the Warriors generated opportunities -- Sydney Burns twice fired wide after attacks down the left flank. Then Malori Killoren won a key tackle at midfield and got the ball forward to Samantha Linn, whose looping shot dropped over the keeper and just inside the far post in the 58th minute. Deerfield keeper Karley Morris made 10 saves and posted her second shutout of the season. The Warrior backline of Shayna Wood, Sydney Fleishman, Ashely Morgan, and Emma Pelz stood firm throughout the second half aided by excellent work from holding midfielders Devyn Compisi and Haley Emory. Despite having 11 corner kicks, Benet (2-1-0) was unable to break through and find the tying goal. Deerfield will host Metea Valley in the championship game of the tournament Tuesday evening.
Metea Valley 4, Sandburg 0
Maeve Riordan had a goal and two assists and Sophia Senese had one of each to earn the ninth-ranked Mustangs a title game berth. Charlotte Ives scored the final goal of the game, and Chesney Wargo added an assist. Myah Schoolman and Nikki Coryell combined for the shutout for Metea Valley (2-0-0).

Naperville North 2, Hinsdale Central 0
The Huskies (2-0-1) used first half goals from Hannah Martin and Leah Molloy to collect the win. Goalkeeper Maddie Hausmann and her backline collected a second consecutive shutout for fourth-ranked Naperville North.
