All-Stater Malori Killoren's hat-trick did the trick in Grayslake. Riley Schimanski almost got the Warriors on the board in the 7th minute, but her blast caromed off the crossbar. Killoren opened the scoring in the 12th minute when she picked up a loose ball and fired a shot that deflected off a defender and wrong-footed the keeper. Warriors keeper Isa Davila made a great save to tip a shot over the bar in the 35th minute. Killoren took a pass from Mallory Sawyer in the 52nd minute and weaved her way through multiple defenders before tucking the ball in the corner. The junior ended the scoring in the 62nd with another great solo effort. Gabi Sipe, who relieved Davila in net in the 67th minute, saved the Warriors shutout. After the visitors conceded a penalty in the 73rd minute, the sophomore flung herself to her right and punched the ball away; then she got back to her feet and made an even better save to keep out the rebound. Deerfield, ranked 20th in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25, improved to 5-1-0.
Naperville Central 1, St. Francis 1
The no. 24-ranked Redhawks (3-1-1) saw that the ranked battle ended in a draw when Sullivan Schubal knotted the score after an Emma Irle assist in the 51st minute. Sixth-ranked St. Francis (0-1-1), which won the Class AA state title last season, held the halftime lead on a 30th-minute score from Mickey Corrigan. Naperville Central second half keeper Amber Hunter shut the door on the Spartans with four saves. The game was originally scheduled at St. Francis but was moved due to a field issue.
