The Knights put the game away by packing all their goals in the first half. Ashley Welk started the scoring off an assist by Sarah Mulvihill. Welk completed her brace with Faith Fitzsimmons' assistance. Fitzsimmons finished off the scoring after receiving a feed from Mulvihill. Gianna Rossi recorded the shutout and was well served by the backline work of Helen Siavelis, Natalie Marfilius, Tina Suto, Ashley Erickson, Madalyn Ladd, and Alexa Mitka. The Knights can't rest on their laurels -- they host Wheeling on Wednesday.

Katie Murphy finished after a Shaina Dudas assist in the 67th minute to power the no. 7 Huskies (5-1-3) into the semifinal round Friday. Hinsdale Central (2-5-1) put up a strong fight as it continues to round into top form.

Deerfield 5, Grant 0
The 17th-ranked Warriors (9-2-0) cruised to the road win. Chloe Cappas opened the scoring when she tapped home a Samantha Linn cross at the near post in the 3rd minute. Marissa Hyland made it 2-0 in the 35th minute when she finished off a sequence of passes begun by Malori Killoren and continued to Cappas. Hyland struck again three minutes later after Linn’s through-ball found Cappas in space. Her shot was saved, but Hyland pounced on the rebound to make it 3-0 at the half. Julia Neal took a pass from Callie Birtman and fired a shot just under the crossbar in the 75th minute. Two minutes later, Sydney Burns fed Birtman, who looped a shot over the keeper for her first varsity goal. Carolyn Curley stuffed a breakaway in the 65th minute en route to her first varsity shutout.
