The Warriors jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a 19th-minute goal after Shayna Wood stole the ball in midfield and fed Riley Schimanski, who lofted a shot over the keeper from the edge of the penalty area. The Warriors increased the margin to 2-0 when Schimanski was taken down in the penalty area in the 54th minute. Chicagoland Soccer all-stater Malori Killoren, making her return to the lineup after missing 13 games, stepped up and drilled the penalty kick just under the crossbar for her 10th goal of the year. Sarah Stahlberger got one back for the Giants on a 35-yard free kick in the 60th minute. The Warriors' freshman sensation Schimanski put the game away in the 77th minute when she took a pass from Julia Neal, beat her defender and chipped the keeper with a lob into the upper corner at the far post. Gabi Sipe made 6 saves for the Warriors (10-9-1, 1-2-1).

The North Stars (14-0-1, 4-0-0), the new no. 1 in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25, took control with a four-goal second half. Juniors Sarah Andrey and Anna Weyman led the way with a goal and an assist each. Grace Barresi, Maddie Rossi and Talia Pellegrini added goals. Sami Rydberg, Claudia Najera and Kellie Callaghan contributed helpers. Keeper Jordan Boyd earned the shutout without a save.
