Sophomore midfielder Hannah Bradley-Leon's unassisted goal in the 74th minute gave the Redhawks (4-3-0) the win. A pair of seniors (Jessica Sonner goal, Maddie Redeker assist) gave Naperville Central the lead in the 19th minute. Classmate keeper Erin McHugh kept it intact with six first half saves. Sophomore Sophie Epelbaum finished the game in goal and made one save in the final 40 minutes. Seventeenth-ranked St. Charles East (5-2-2) tied the game on Kayla Villa's 66th-minute tally off an Alondra Carranza assist. The tournament continues Saturday in St. Charles when Naperville Central plays Schaumburg at 3 p.m. and the host Fighting Saints meet ninth-ranked Geneva at 5 p.m.
