Nicole Burns added a goal, and Mia Tommasone and Clare Bumpus distributed a helpers apiece for no. 21 Benet (3-2-0, 1-1-0), which rebounded from an overtime loss at Nazareth in their conference debut Tuesday.

The Warriors improved to 2-0-0 in the league behind a pair of goals from Gretchen Pearson and Sophie Lindquist and solo tallies from Erin Teevans, Anna Joy Setran and Sarah Brcka. Wheaton Academy (3-1-0 overall) plays York at 1 p.m. Saturday in the PepsiCo Showdown in Schaumburg.

Shawna Stokes tallied once, and Helen Siavelis and Grace Johannesen recorded assists for the victors. The Lady Knights travel to Hersey for another important early season MSL matchup Friday.

Stephanie Howe scored midway through the first half and the 10th-ranked hosts made the goal stand up in the first round of the round-robin tournament. Naperville Central outshot Geneva 11-7 but couldn't find the equalizer. The Redhawks dropped to 3-3-1 with the loss.
St. Charles East 2, Schaumburg 2
The no. 6 Fighting Saints held a 2-0 halftime league but couldn't hold off Schaumburg. Claire Rasmussen had a goal and an assist for St. Charles East, and Chantel Carranza also knocked one home. Emma Aguilar had a goal and an assist for Schaumburg, which also got major contributions from Dana Kizkowski (goal) and Morgan Norris (assist).
