Glenbard West Sectional championship
Glenbard West 1, Lyons 1 (GW wins PKs 4-3)
After a scoreless 80 minutes, Niamh Griffin gave top-seeded and -ranked Lyons a 1-0 lead about four minutes into the first overtime. Glenbard West drew even in the 92nd minute when Gwen Johnson lofted a shot to the back side of the net that beat Chicagoland Soccer all-state keeper Izzy Lee. Sophia Brown created the assist. In the shootout, the second-seeded Hilltoppers shot second. They got goals from their first three shooters: Emmie Roberts, Kendall Walch and Johnson, and led 3-2 after a Lyons miss in the third round. Both keepers made saves in the fourth round. After Lyons scored to tie the PK battle, Maeve Repking gave Glenbard West the huge upset over the Lions, who won state trophies the past two seasons. Ava Callaway got the win in goal for the Hilltoppers, who will face no. 21 Lincoln-Way at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Sandburg Supersectional.

Deerfield 3, Lake Forest 1 (2 OT)
The top-seeded and 14th-ranked Warriors bounced back from a 1-0 deficit to deliver the win. Emily Fox led the rally with a brace. Ryane Emory knocked in another Deerfield tally. Freshman Aubrey Galvan collected two assists, and Holly Deutsch extended her school helper record to 60. The Warriors earned their second sectional title and with it an invitation to meet Boylan in the Grayslake Central Supersectional at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Sixth-seeded tournament Cinderella Lake Forest saw its exciting tourney run end.
