Andrew Grabowski scored an unassisted goal in the second half to draw Crystal Lake South even, but the Gators couldn't hold on. Goalkeepers Spencer Traub (6 saves) and Brandon Gorka (3) were keep busy in the net for the visitors. Crystal Lake South returns to action Tuesday against Warren in the Knights Invitational at Grayslake North.

Nate Zain gave the ninth-ranked hosts a first half lead off a precise cross from Zack Kokes. But no. 2 Morton, which finished third in Class 3A last season, found the equalizer on a restart in the second half. Naperville Central keeper Wesley Sprague made 8 saves to preserve the tie.
The Redhawks travel to meet no. 12 St. Charles East on Thursday.
