The Knights (1-0-0) were 4-2 winners at Deerfield on Monday night in the annual season-opening cross-conference competition.

The top-ranked Huskies (0-0-1) saw their 45-game win streak end with the surprising road draw. Senior forward Patrick scored a brace for Naperville North, which hosts Lyons in a rematch of their 2018 supersectional at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
St. Charles East 2, South Elgin 0
It was the Sebastian Carranza and Alex Mancera show as the former scored once in each half assisted by the latter. Goalkeeper Jack Settle made eight saves for the shutout for the host and 30th-ranked Fighting Saints (1-0-0). Keeper Zach Juszko made five saves for South Elgin (0-1-0).

The North Stars scored twice in the final 15 minutes for the win. Sam Strader tallied in the 65th minute off a Nolan Sinnaeve assist, and Faizan Mohiuddin posted an unassisted insurance goal five minutes later. Bob Curran made three saves for 45th-ranked North (1-0-0), which heads to Huntley for a 6:30 p.m. contest Wednesday night.
