Six different field players had a hand in the draw for South Elgin. Chris Coria, Ryan Doherty and Yahir Carrillo scored, and Ryan Nguyen, Andrew Montenegro and Kendall Andrewin contributed assists. Keeper Aaron Cacucciolo-Forbes made five saves for the Storm (0-0-1), which continues in the six-team round-robin against Wheaton North at 9 a.m. Saturday. The Falcons (2-0-0) opened the tourney with a 5-1 win over St. Francis on Thursday.

The Blue Devils (1-0-0), Chicagoland Soccer's top-ranked spring team and listed no. 15 in the fall preseason poll, took a five-goal first half lead and cruised. Cael Harris (brace, assist), Matt Hegge (brace) and Lucas Ahonen (3 assists) led the way. Matt Paraskos (goal and assist), Ryan Stanciak and Emilio Mancera added to the goal scoring column. Alexis Medina and Ben Conley chipped in with helpers. "I was very pleased with how the boys played tonight," said head coach Jason Ahonen. "A lot of the stuff that we’ve been focusing on in training came to fruition tonight during our play. Very excited for a number of the boys that got their first varsity start and their first varsity appearance."

The Warriors (0-0-1) left the field knotted with visiting Geneva (0-1-1) on a sunny Thursday early evening at Performance Trust Field. The result was the third-consecutive tie between the two teams in three years. There were many possession changes through the middle of the field and fast-paced counterattacks. Geneva threatened from set pieces throughout the evening. Wheaton Academy tested the Geneva backline and goal keeper frequently in the second half. Declan Finnegan recorded 5 saves for the hosts. The Warriors return to action against Maine South at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles East in the opening round of the St. Charles Invitataional.
