After its first score 2 1/2 minutes into the game, the Redwings scored 2 goals in 16 seconds en route to a 3-0 first half lead in its ESCC opener. Daniel Morefield led Benet with 2 goals, and Connor Mote, Nick Trakszelis and Jason Rowaiye had a goal and an assist each. Jacob Graiber had 2 assists and Ben Kelly had 1. Keepers Konrad Bayer (1 save) and Brian Gould (4) shared the shutout for Benet (4-3-0, 1-0-0). The Redwings travel to Bolingbrook for a 5 p.m. game Monday.

The second-seeded Warriors held off Minooka in the first round at the Lyons Soccer Complex. Ethan Stoneman (Elias McCloud) and Isaac Anthony (Ty Seager) scored for the winners. Wheaton Academy, the no. 3 team in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25, will host Downers Grove North in the second round on Tuesday night.

South (4-2-3) fell on Rolling Meadow's first half goal from Edgar Avolos. The Gators' Spencer Traub had 5 saves in the loss.
