The Panthers came back less than a minute later with the eventual game-winner when Tyler Nack won a ball in the midfield and and played a 1-2 with Escobedo to get behind the backline and finish from the top of the box. The Panthers exploded for four more goals in the last 18 minutes to finish the victory. Jorge Roman and Adan Solorio each had a brace. Junior Martin Montoya collected two goals and an assist for the 12th-ranked Red Devils (7-1-1). Sophomore Enzo Cinque opened the scoring with his first varsity goal. Classmate Austen Szurgot got his first varsity goal, and fellow Class of '25 member and goalkeeper Martin Contreras made five saves for the shutout. Luca Davies continues to lead the Hinsdale Central offense with nine goals and three assists (21 points) and kept his season-long scoring streak intact. Nolan Spence, Dray Glashin (assist), and Owen Peterson added goals. Kevin Gottschalk, Cody Jurgenson, Ardit Abdullai, Davies and Alex Aschinberg chipped in with helpers. "Our three sophomores played strong, getting a lot of minutes and making big plays," said head coach Mike Wiggins. "It was fun to see Cinque and Szurgot get their first varsity goals, and Martin has established himself as a very confident player with the goalkeeping." Hinsdale Central will now train up to its rivaly game for the Silver Brick against Lyons on Sept. 20 at home.
