"The defensive group is playing with such a high work-rate and is putting us in positions to win these close games." The Panthers aim to knock off defending Glenbard Cup champs Glenbard West on October 13 to take possession of the Cup. The teams are tied for the lead with six points; Glenbard North holds the tiebreaker on goals against.

Colin Leatherbury's first half goal, off a Logan Lewarchick assist, held up for the 15th-ranked Fighting Saints. Keeper Jordan Rolon made two saves for the clean-sheet for St. Charles East (11-2-1). Stingy South Elgin (1-8-3) received three saves from keeper Luke Bondi.
