Andy Nash scored in the ninth minute after a T.J. McVey assist to give the 24th-ranked Redwings the win over no. 3 Lyons. Keeper Evan Lucas made four saves and got great support from defenders Brendan Forsythe, Nick Roe, Evan Frasier, Jared Plummer and Alex Blacha. Benet (8-4-0) has won four of its last five matches with the only loss coming Friday in a 2-1 defeat to no. 1 Morton. The Redwings continue their string of top-flight opponents when they meet 15th-ranked West Chicago on the road at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Crystal Lake South 2, Whitefish Bay (Wis.) 1
The Gators took a bus ride north to face prepsoccer.net's eighth-ranked team in the country and drove home with the upset win. Crystal Lake South (11-2-1) took the lead on a Tomasz Slawek header off a corner kick from Michal Dejworek in the 15th minute. The home team scored in a similar manner to tie the game at the top of the 25th minute for a deadlock at halftime. Tom Coughlin scored on an unassisted effort 1:01 into the second half, and the lead held. Goalkeeper Logan Vargas made six saves in the win. Whitefish Bay suffered its first loss of the season and now stands at 8-1-0.
Genoa-Kingston 8, Richmond-Burton 1
Jorge Leon led the way with four goals in the ninth win in a row for the Cogs (15-1-0). Genoa-Kingston played a man up after the 22-minute mark. The winners' scoring parade included: Diego Espinoza, brace and assist; Jacob Barton, brace; Eagan Reams, two assists; and Brayan Garcia and Jay Wolcott, one assist apiece.
Glenbard North 1, Glenbard East 0
After a scoreless first half, the Panthers converted a set piece from just outside the box. Christian Escobedo provided the assist for the Lucas Tran strike. Stavros Veremis made five saves in his fifth shutout of the season. The Panthers (5-5-3) host Lake Park Tuesday night in a DuKane Conference clash.
Plainfield Central 3, Naperville North 2
Goals from Alex Barger (Keegan Flaherty assist) and Tyson Amoo-Mensah (Jacob Ryu) were not enough as the Huskies (10-3-2), ranked fourth in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25, suffered the upset loss at home.
St. Charles East 8, South Elgin 1
After trailing 1-0 at the half, South Elgin tied the game on a Ryan Doherty on a PK won by Ryan Nguyen. Then the dam burst -- the host Fighting Saints (12-1-0) poured in seven-consecutive goals. Sebastian Carranza led the way for the sixth-ranked hosts with a hat-trick and assist. Connor King and Josh Ruiz (assist) posted second half braces. Mason Brockmeyer recorded the Saints sixth goal. Colin Leatherbury claimed two assists, and Jack Harrington, Phil Anton, Logan Lewarchick and Mason Blenner each posted one. Keepers Jordon Rolon (40 minutes, one saves zero goals), and Tyler Benhart (40, one, one) split the win.
South Elgin fell to 3-6-4.
Warren 2, Evanston 2
After a 19th-minute Evanston PK and 21st minute Warren equalier from Miguel Garcia (Matt Paraskos assist), the game went 53-scoreless minutes before an eventful ending. After no. 7 Evanston took the lead five minutes from time, Garcia, with help from Alexis Medina tied it, in the 78th minute. "It was a very exciting and entertaining high school soccer match between two quality programs," said Warren coach Jason Ahonen. " I was very pleased to see the boys battle back after being down twice in the match. We had a chance to win it with less than 15 seconds left in the game, but the Evanston keeper stepped up big-time with a huge save from a quality free kick attempt by Alexis Medina. I could not be prouder of the boys overall effort. Everyone contributed today and made a difference." The 17th-ranked Blue Devils are 8-1-4.
West Chicago 3, Wheaton Academy 0
The Warriors (7-4-1, 4-1-0) lost on the road to no. 15 West Chicago on Saturday afternoon. Wheaton Academy threatened on offense couldn't break through. The Warriors host their final league match of the season against St. Francis at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
