Benet 4, Notre Dame 0
The Redwings extended their league win and shutout streaks to five with the win. Benet broke through in the 37th minute after senior Nick Trakszelis split the Dons' defense. His hard shot was stopped by Notre Dame senior goalkeeper Michael Pierson, but senior Jason Rowaiye drove home the rebound for his fourth goal of the season.
The second half was all Benet. The Redwings added a quick insurance goal in the 43rd minute. Junior Franklin Rutkowski provided a nice feed Trakszelis for his fifth goal of the season. Trakszelis added to his goal total on a header after an Anthony Kloss cross to extend the lead, and Will Shannon's first goal of the season completed the scoring. Benet improved to 5-1-0 in the ESCC and 6-6-1 overall. Next up on the schedule is a league home date with Marian Catholic on Oct. 4.

After winning their semifinal, the Fighting Saints fell in the consolation title game in Burlington, Ia. Luke Scnitker's goal in the second half was the difference. He and George Maridis assisted on each other's goals, and goalkeeper Zach Kennedy needed to make only two saves in the win against Normal West, which is ranked 10th in Chicagoland Soccer's Illinois 10 poll. In the consolation final, a second half goal from Davis Frey (Matt Clancy assist) punched the ticket for St. Charles East (4-9-4) to get to overtime, but Normal took the win in the 84th minute.

Neuqua Valley 3, Addison Trial 1
Billy Heinades had a goal and an assist, and Daniel Costea had two helpers in the win. Matthew Miller (Heniades) gave the Wildcats a 1-0 halftime lead in the 15th minute. Heniades (Costea) delivered a two-goal cushion in the 43rd minute, but the hosts halved it in the 55th minute. Daniel Laverde and Costea were credited with assists on an own goal that cemented the win for the Wildcats (11-4-1). Neuqua Valley plays next at DuPage Valley Conference foe Wheaton North at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Taft 6, Phoenix Military
The Eagles pushed their win streak to 5 games after another outstanding performance from striker Patrick Knap, who contributed 3 goals and 2 assists. It was the third multi-goal game in a row for the senior and his second hat-trick in three games.
