Edgar Quintero and Ismael Zepeda scored as the Mustangs, ranked fifth in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25, took down their nationally ranked semifinal foe. Julian Sotelo and Deyair Ruiz collected assists. Morton and Naperville North advanced to the bracket title game. Since the teams have already played this season (a 1-0 Morton win Aug. 27), they will conclude the tourney against other top regional teams. Morton takes on Marquette (Wis.) and seventh-ranked Naperville North will face St. Thomas Aquinas, both at 10:15 a.m.

Giuseppe Avendano scored the second goal, and Colin Leatherbury and Griffin Counts added assists. Keepers Ty Benhart (40 minutes, one saves) and Ivan Campobasso (40 minutes, zero) split the shutout. St Charles East (13-2-1) meets Middleton (Wis.) in a semifinal match at 8:30 a.m. Saturday

The Warriors (8-3-3) won their semifinal match over the 10th-ranked team in the Illinois 10 poll behind a quick-strike attack. Jakob Karlson and Josiah Pitts both scored unassisted goals in the opening four minutes. Josh Mariotti found Troy Erickson for the Warriors third goal of the half in the 22nd minute. The second half featured back-and-forth play by both teams with strong saves by both goal keepers. Declan Finnegan made four saves for the clean-sheet. Wheaton Academy takes on Althoff, ranked no. 4 in the Illinois 10, in the final at noon.
