Fenwick 4, Parker 3
The Friars rebounded against the Class A Colonels after their tough 2-1 loss against no. 2 Oak Park and River Forest on Sept. 2. Senior midfielder Frank Felice scored a brace and junior defender/midfielder Evan Hickman compiled a goal and assist. Freshman midfielder Truman Sabatino completed the scoring list. Senior defender/midfielder Ian Martinello and senior midfielder Kamil Pilecki added assists for Fenwick (4-2-0).
Grayslake Central 2, Warren 0
The visiting no. 10 Rams topped their ninth-ranked hosts behind first half goals from Nick Molochinikov and Daniel Marynevych on Alan Alonso and Damian Sereno assists. Warren fell for the first time in six matches. "I thought Grayslake Central was just as advertised," said Blue Devils coach Jason Ahonen. "Dynamic and quick up-top, very mature in the middle and skilled all around. I truly appreciate two quality teams going at it, trying to play soccer the right way. Unfortunately tonight was not our night. We had a few chances in the first half and a few chances at the end of the game to find the back of that, but we were unable to."
Huntley 1, Libertyville 0
Eli Johnson made six saves for the 19th-ranked Wildcats, who were upset at home.
Wheaton Academy 3, Marmion 3
The Warriors (3-2-2) took a 2-0 lead into halftime thanks to goals from the Mariotti brothers, Josh (assist Will Clegg) and Caleb (free kick). The second half proved an uphill battle after a red card left Wheaton Academy to play with 10 men for the final 30 minutes. Marmion responded with 56th- and 67th-minute goals to even the score. The Warriors Josiah Pitts gave the hosts a 3-2 lead in the 68th minute. Despite strong stands by the backline and a red card for the Cadets, Marmion scored in the 74th minute to bring an electric evening of 10-v-10 soccer to its end in a deadlock. The Warriors open up Metro Suburban Conference Blue Division play when they host St. Edward at 7 p.m. Thursday.
