The Redwings, ranked 11th in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25, powered their way to the win. T.J. McVey led the way for the Redwings with two goals and two assists. Danny Boyle also had a strong showing, helping one teammate and adding two scores of his own. Owen McGarry added a brace and gave help. Other Benet scores came from Nicholas Roe, Daniel Pepping and Caden Schulz. Helpers came from Nico Picha (2), Sam Barbeau and John Kolb. Keeper Drew Knapp made three saves in 80 minutes to anchor the Redwings defense. Benet (4-2-0, 2-0-0) has no rest time; it hosts Plainfield Central Thursday at home.

The Storm had a chance to tie the game but missed a penalty kick in the final 10 seconds of the game. Ryan Doherty led the offense with a brace. Lucas McMillan and Brandon Pina provided helpers for South Elgin (1-3-4, 0-2-0), which next plays against Huntley in a nonconference match at 11 a.m. Saturday.
